In Book 5 of Saga 1, BRAVE Books and the Hodgetwins have come together to discuss the harmfulness of Critical Race Theory (CRT) through the story More Than Spots and Stripes. It follows Rebel, a ridiculously fast spotted cheetah, who has been training hard with her partner Madi to win the most epic race on all of Freedom Island. But then Rebel comes across the divisive ideology promoted by an older racer named Bella.
Bella convinces all of the spotted cheetahs that the race is rigged against them and it was rigged by the cheetahs with stripes. Will the racers let this flawed ideology divide them or will they overcome it to successfully race as one again?
